Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Directed by J.J. Abrams
Starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyeger, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac
The Zeitgeist: fresh92%

The Force Awakens is a genuine return to form for the damaged Star Wars universe – The Force Awakens fits neatly in as, for us, the 3rd best of the whole franchise. Original trilogy included. (It edges out Return of the Jedi in our eyes). Genuinely top quality filmmaking; we see a complete absence of farcial low-rent CGI and have, again, what looks like a genuine breathing world. J.J. Abrams’ effective reboot successfully treads the fine line of bringing Star Wars back to relevance whilst tying into its past. A solid footing for Disney to now build on.
